Introduction
The Taiwanese manufacturer manages to impress one more time with their Butterfly model. Well-built and good looking, HTC Butterfly features a strong hardware platform and an impressive display that certainly makes it a device worth considering. Of course, those not on a tight-budget will likely prefer HTC One, but Butterfly is undoubtedly a smart, more economical choice.
Overview
Butterfly is pretty much a HTC One built from cheaper, plastic materials. There are other minor differences, but the first thing you will notice is that the plastics used give it a different feel and that you don't get the same firm grip feeling aluminum covered terminals offer. The main thing that sets Butterfly apart is of course the Super LCD 3, 5-inch display, with its 441ppi pixel density and a generous 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Butterfly comes with 16GB internal memory and offers the possibility adding up to 64GB with a micro SD card. On the top, there are the micro SIM and micro SD card slots and the on/off button. At the bottom, there are the micro USB port and the microphone. The terminal comes with an MP camera and the Image Sense image processor, and there's also the very handy 2.1 MP front camera.
Verdict
One X's younger brother HTC Butterfly is an elegant smartphone built from cheaper materials, which make it more affordable. The 5-inches display makes a strong impression, and the hardware platform makes a speedy device. Of course, not many are drawn to plastic devices, but Butterfly doesn't look or feel cheap and its features, especially the Full HD display, sure make it an appealing device. What's more, the device comes with protection to water which adds to its desirability. I think there will be even fewer drawbacks with Butterfly 2 and the model will be a big success, yet until we get our hands on that device I certainly recommend playing a bit with this impressive HTC terminal.
