Hulu have struck a deal that add 10 more TV shows to the Hulu Kids section. Shows including Fraggle Rock are coming online after a distribution agreement was reached with Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment, who distribute Jim Henson shows.
Classic kids fare from yesteryear coming to the streaming service consists of:- 96 episodes of Fraggle Rock, 13 episodes of Fraggle Rock: Animated, a single episode of Jim Henson’s Play-Along-Video, 32 episodes of Mopatop’s Shop, 26 episodes of Jim Henson’s Animal Show with Stinky and Jake, 40 episodes of The Hoobs, 13 episodes of Mother Goose Stories, 13 episodes of Secret Life of Toys, 40 episodes of Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, and 26 episodes of Construction Site.
The episodes will all be available on the subscription based Hulu Plus service with no commercials, and episodes will be available on the free ad-supported Hulu on a rolling basis. The monetary value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Streaming companies are placing great importance on kids content. Something for the kids to watch is always a great selling point for parents and Hulu’s rivals Amazon and Netflix both have dedicated children’s sections.
