Disney‘s box-office smash family film Frozen are naturally still raking in the benefits of their highly-successful release, and in their efforts to keep the process at its peak for as long as possible, have added to their to-do list a ‘short film’ starring the main characters to premiere next year.
The feature, entitled Frozen Fever, will see ‘all the main original characters’ return (with voice acting from Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, amongst others), along with comebacks for directors Jennifer Lee & Chris Buck, and a new original song coming from Oscar-winning pair Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
The film’s official ‘log line’ reads: “In Frozen Fever, it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.”
Film producer Peter Del Vecho has remained quiet on the possibility of the $1b-grossing movie receiving a rumoured sequel, and for the time being will have to go through the motions with its ABC ‘making of’ special, a ‘singalong bonus edition’ new DVD/Blu-ray release in November, ‘live skating show’, Disneyland attractions, and a Toy Story-style introduction of new prologue content…
Of course fans of a franchise want to see it continue if the option is there, and Disney are a company that aim to do so regardless, but sometimes isn’t it better for a legacy to just have one feature film then:
