Black Mirror, the highly popular British TV serial depicting the darker side of life and technology, is now streaming on Netflix.
The miniseries created by Charlie Brooker, is described as a darker postmodern version of The Twilight Zone. Black Mirror currently has two seasons consisting of six hour-long episodes. A third season is in the works, as well as, a Hollywood movie adaption.
Each episode takes place in the near future and the stories in every episode stand alone from the others.
Brooker takes an element of the current technological world, and transforms it on to whole other level which may seem crazy yet is totally plausible.
“If technology is a drug–and it does feel like a drug–then what, precisely, are the side-effects? This area–between delight and discomfort–is where Black Mirror, my new drama series, is set. The “Black Mirror” of the title is the one you’ll find on every wall, on every desk, in the palm of every hand: the cold, shiny screen of a TV, a monitor, a smartphone,” says Brooker in the Guardian.
Earlier this year, rights to make a film version of the highly rated episode, “The Entire History of You”, was bought by Robert Downey Jr.
A Christmas special starring Jon Hamm and Oona Chaplin will be the next episode to air on December 25.
