Review: NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service
Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Sasha Alexander are made for this kind of roles. They are fun, nice and absolutely captivating in NCIS. The fans of the genre should not lose sight of this series.
It comes with some extra stuff in comparison with its cousins, the CSI series. NCIS comes with a fluent story, pleasant humor and good dynamics from one episode to another. Its episodes make it impossible for you to detach yourself from the show at any time. The basis of NCIS is not just the actors; the producers present us a well done script under the guidance of three extraordinary directors.
This series describes a perfect atmosphere between work colleagues who are also very good friends. The humor derives from the moments when colleagues tease themselves or make jokes at the expense of one another. Agent Anthony DiNozzo is a comic figure who mostly jokes in inappropriate moments. Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs is a complex character who changes his attitude from strict and rigid to a mild and parental one whenever his subordinates are in danger. He's one of the characters who like to have an absolute control over everything that happens around him. Abby is the character that throughout the series evolved from a girl into a woman, keeping childlike innocence and beauty. Ziva is a character who has to fight on several fronts. On one hand, she has to deal with the feelings towards her father, who initiated her in the art of espionage and in the Mossad assassination techniques, and on the other hand she has to struggle with adapting to a new environment, one that surrounds her with love. She is a character who 'regressed' from a Mossad assassin to a person who has feelings and remorse.
Ducky knows a little more of everything than the rest of his colleagues do. He discovers things that the others don't consider of importance. MgGee is the nerd that evolved from the scared and insecure person that he was into a real man who now manages to face very well the difficult situations that he encounters, except his relationship with DiNozzo who always takes MgGee as the target of his jokes.
All in all, NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service is an A+ series. If you like CSI, then you should definitely give NCIS a try.
