I agree with most comments about the HD later I
expect to see more movies in hd. For now I have
gone the extra step to go beyond the slow
downloads. The other night I set about to watch
a 10 part mini series, I set part one to
download, then selected second and third
windows to start downloads of parts two and
three, away for dinner for thirty minutes. Back
to the screen, started part one....watched
straight thru no stops. At the end of part one
I set another window for part four to download.
Conclusion, in four and a half hours I had
watched four hours of unbroken and thoroughly
enjoyable video. Employed the same tactics for
the balance of the series for nights two and
three.. Works just as well with a standard
movie, just give it some time to bank a decent
buffer....and enjoy.

veehd can be slow at times. they also can be very fast. peak times...

having the "hd" in their name doesn't mean that everything will be in hd, it only hints it's supported.

also, the quality of a video depends on what users are uploading, if the source file is small in size and resolution you'll have to "blame" the uploader. veehd state they are not converting most file types, thus keeping the original quality. something stagevu doesn't do... if you have found better quality there that's fine, but it's a moot point because of the reasons stated.

i like that site, it's clean and seems to have a good community which is still developing. there are still some occasional hiccups but over time i'm certain it will become an awesome place.

VeeHD: Not bad, but not perfect, February 01, 2010

I'll just give a rather short version of my review.
VeeHD is touted as being the next generation of online TV... and in glorious High Definition, hence the name Vee "HD".

First, I'll give it props for being fairly easy to navigate. The layout is very basic, but non-obtrusive... which is a good thing.
The speed at which it delivers it's DivX programming is quite good. Actually, it's one of the best I've seen. DivX is a very good codec, and the movie retains excellent quality, but the trade-off that has plagued it in the past has been its painfully slow loading speed. I suspect this is due to its extremely high level of compression. VeeHD delivers DivX quite well.

The variety is very good, though hard-to-find videos are also hard-to-find on VeeHD. Forget about classics or an old obscure movie.

Now the downside: There is VERY little content that is in "true" HD. The majority is not, even though the name is "HD". I found better quality at StageVU... but the slow speed is a nightmare!
