Quick Verdict

Samsung Galaxy S4, the latest generation Galaxy S Smart Phone, You immediately feel that this gadget is better than S3.

Introduction

Samsung Galaxy S4, the latest generation Galaxy S Smart Phone is finally available globally. Its Full HD Super AMOLED 5 inch display is used for the first time by Samsung Galaxy S 4 and renders colors and images impressively clear. Furthermore, the device is able to recognize the voice of its user as well as his movements thus allowing Galaxy S4 users to control the screen without touching it and perform various tasks easily. These features and the many more detailed in the following review, plus its retail price are set to make Samsung Galaxy S 4 one of the most successful Smartphones to date.

Overview

The design is not remarkably different from Galaxy S3, its predecessor, but the new Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a wider screen and full HD resolution, a five Exynos chipset 1.6GHz Octa and 2GB RAM. Furthermore, you can go for the quad-core Snapdragon 600 at 1.9 GHz if you want and the devices presents one 2MP and one 13 MP resolution cameras. WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 are also included, as well as a GPS receiver.

Although we are not speaking of leather or aluminum at any point, this time Samsung has not used the cheapest materials available. The phone is not bigger than the S3, but the edges on the screen are cleaner, so the display larger. Samsung Galaxy S4 sits well in the hand, and you genuinely get to feel a true premium product; it' light yet does not slip from your hands, and its performance is exceptional in both the OS and the interface: you can try in any possible tests you want.

Galaxy S4's camera is excellent, very good for outdoor photos and portraits, although it still has minor issues with evening or night photos. Filming is not all that great also, mainly because you can't keep the camera still, but it does a decent job. The battery life keeps you going for one day at least, but you might get more out of the 130 grams 2600 mAh battery, depending on your settings.

Samsung Galaxy S4 versions feature 16, 32 and 64 GB internal memory that you can easily expand with microSD cards up to 64GB. Samsung Galaxy S comes with Android OS 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and the Nature UX 2.0 interface.

Display

The 5" Full HD display is remarkably good. A Super AMOLED HD density of 441 ppi, which renders true colors, unlike the TFT smartphones, makes this model one of the best available. Moreover, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, so you don't actually have to worry about buying casings, but you should consider it.

Connectivity

Galaxy S4 features pretty much all connection technologies available, with wire or without wire, and does great under any circumstance; the device features a HSPA modem, WiFi, 4G, Bluetooth v4.0, and the list goes on. The device even has It has GPS and GLONASS navigation and comes with 9 sensors including accelerometer, thermometer, gyroscope, even a barometer, and so on.

Software Applications

We have to admit that Galaxy S4 surpasses all competitors when it comes to the software and apps, at least for now. The device comes with a large number of applications designed to help you solve everyday tasks efficiently and interact in an authentic and creative manner with friends and family.

Group Play allows users to share music, documents and games, without turning to Wi-Fi or mobile network operators. Samsung Galaxy S owners can directly connect together to share documents and to play games. Share Music even allows users to listen to the same music simultaneously on their devices. Air Gesture allows us to change the song with a flick of the hand and Samsung Smart Pause allows us to control the phone with our eyes. The list could go on indefinitely as there are literally dozens of such apps and probably more are being developed. Even more, the accessories developed for this device can certainly spice up the live of an avid, curious user, but it takes time to understand and use all features, apps and accessories. One thing I'd recommend is buying a strong casing for this precious piece of technology as you don't want to damage it under any circumstances.

Verdict

Once you get your hands on Samsung Galaxy S4, your life is changed for the better. You immediately feel that this gadget is better than S3, and Samsung manages to surprise you over and over with this device once you start using it. It will probably take a while to go over all features, and you sure won't get bored for some time once you start tinkering with the various apps.
