Introduction

HTC One V is aimed at One series enthusiasts on a budget, but it is not an entry-level device. Following the HTC Desire S, One V shares its platform and part of the hardware. One V didnítí get much attention because it is less powerful than its predecessor and actually doesnít bring anything new to the table. Still, One V does come at a much lower price, and the overall performance still is that of a powerful smartphone. No doubt about it, those less interested in high-end devices but simply want a decent smartphone reasonably riced, One V is of interest.

Design and Layout

HTC One V manages to stand out from the myriad of rounded or square smartphones out there despite its weaker performance as compared to previous One models. In terms of construction, HTC One V comes in a light aluminum unibody casing, and its dimensions stay in decent range, yet Iíd say the device couldíve been a little thinner. Even so, the 120.3 x 59.7 x 9.2 mm terminal that weighs only 115g makes for a remarkably comfortable smartphone. The front is obviously dominated by the 3.7" display, and at the top of the screen thereís the main speaker and the HTC logo. At the bottom of the screen, there are three capacitive buttons: Back, Home and Recent Apps.

Display

If placed in direct sun light One Vís Super LCD2 is not terribly visible, yet this is common to most types of displays. In the absence of direct sunlight, the Auto lighting mode provides the right balance of visibility and viewing angles are generous. HTC One V uses a high quality LCD screen that ensures vivid colors, excellent contrast and brightness level.

Camera

HTC One V comes with only one camera located on the back of the smartphone. The 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash offers a maximum resolution of the images at2592 x 1944 pixels and can record HD 720p quality clips. You can even choose the focal point while shooting and other software features are there to ensure an enjoyable experience.

Verdict

HTC One V is obviously not one of the super smartphones to hit the market, but it does carry out smoothly everything you'd expect from a smartphone; One V looks elegant, is slim and lightweight and has both a good display and camera. Most importantly, HTC One V comes with a reasonable price tag.
