Introduction
HTC One X is a fantastic, light yet powerful smartphone. Moreover, its camera was designed to compete with high rated models in this segment. The 8MP camera with BSI sensor enables full HD and stop-frame during shooting. It speed is another strong point as the application starts and takes about 0.2 s to take a picture after the plication starts in also less than a second. Its light weight and sleek design mainly come from using the polycarbonate that is durable, versatile and remarkably light.
Design and Layout
Reading the technical specifications you'd expect the device to be quite heavy due to its dimensions (134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm) yet it weighs only 130g, which makes it even lighter than the iPhone 4S. HTC One X comes with a polycarbonate unibody casing and a microSIM card. The front side is dominated by the large 4.7" display covered by protective Corning Gorilla Glass which is highly resistant to scratches. The frontal glass has a convex shape to make navigation more natural, and there is one 1.3MP secondary camera.
Display
HTC One X impressive 4.7" display is one of its strong points, with the 1280 x 720 resolution and an excellent 316ppi. As such One X resembles the Retina display used by Apple, which is the reference in terms of the number of pixels per inch 326ppi at this point. The screen used is Super IPS LCD2 that offers natural color unlike the ones seen on Super AMOLED displays.
Camera
Both One X and One S feature a 28mm 8MP camera capable of 3264 x 2448 resolution photos or shooting Full HD at 30fps clips. The ImageChip processor ensures a wide range of photo effects. The camera interface is HTC’s proprietary ImageSense, which is by far the most intuitive and easy to use interface so far.
Verdict
The polycarbonate unibody sleek design and the impressive features sure make this HTC device worth the money. HTC employs the powerful Tegra 3 Android 4.0.3 platform with HTC Sense 4.0, and the 8MP camera which is phenomenal. Choosing the Super IPS LCD2 display instead of a Super AMOLED is also a lovely change. Even with all minor issues tech enthusiasts may point out, I can say that HTC One X is among the best smartphones on the market at the moment.
