Can i rip and encode at same time?

Rather than rip a DVD then have to encode those files to create an MP4, is there a way to rip and encode on the fly and save an MP4 straight to my drive?

There is a way to do this, the way i do it is using the Handbrake encoding software. I am using the 64bit version of handbrake, download the following file:
    http://download.videolan.org/pub/lib...ibdvdcss-2.dll
copy that file to your handbrake directory usually C:/Program Files/Handbrake/ then rename it from libdvdcss-2.dll to libdvdcss.dll.

Thats it now start handbrake and insert a dvd. It worked for me (didnt with bluray though).

Heres how to do bluray with handbrake. You will need 2 files:
get this file http://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/files/KEYDB.cfg and in windows explorer put this in the drive/path field %APPDATA% press return, now create a new directory called aacs and put the file you downloaded above in the aacs directory.

Next part download http://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/fi...64/libaacs.dll this file and put it in your handbrake directory.

Now you should be able to access blurays.

hello all, I have followed your guide using the dll's you suggest and handbrake but the mp4 file that handbrake produces is very blocky, and consistent in the way the blockyness happens, I have checked my disks and they are all clean. If I use something like dvdfab or makemkv to get it onto my computer it is ok and not blocky. Is there a problem with the dll's or is there something I am doing wrong?

I think there is a problem with decrypting some disks using the libaacs.dll, I have tried a few and about a 1/3 work so I think this way is still being tested. So best bet is to use dvdfab, makemkv or some other decrypting software until the makers of libaacs.dll have it sorted.
