It is a growing trend amongst streaming TV companies who have seen how successful the itunes model is for selling or renting a single show/boxset or season. It makes perfect sense for people that do not watch TV all the time and feel a subscription is wasted.

I think we will see lots more pay-per-view systems coming this year.
