Now that it looks like Google are in the running to buy Hulu (http://www.worldtvpc.com/blog/google-hulu-owner/) that makes them the third heavyweight.

Already Yahoo and Microsoft are sniffing around the company. They are all loaded with cash, so who will end up owning the TV site?

You would have to bet on Google as they have the TV system that needs content and probably would bid the most. Microsoft missed out on buying Youtube so may be pissed off enough to try and outbid Google. Yahoo do not have the same kind of funds available so it is a 2 horse race imo

The problem with buying Hulu is that it is worth nothing withouty the content. As it is owned by the TV networks there is not an issue with getting the TV shows but imagine it is sold to a third party.

When the content deals run out the networks may decide to not renew the deal and Hulu ends up with nothing to show.

I think a sale has to be dependent on securing content deals for the next 10 or 20 years, otherwise there is no real value.

It would make Google TV worth buying if it ran on their platform and noone elses. Go buy it Google :)
