On Wednesday ZengaTV launched its virtual HD mobile television app that comes with built-in social integration. The app, which is only available on Android for the time being, is being looked at to provide users with an alternative to the needs of second-screen users. The developers of the new app say that the it delivers an unparalleled immersive user interface–with several social media features integrated for a seamless experience.
The app design provides users with the ability to create personalized playlists, search-optimized directory listings, faster in-app Live TV browsing, and of course high definition video playback. A movies and VOD sections should be welcome additions for users, and a pause and play feature is available for both respectively.
“We believe that mobile TV is ready to graduate from occasional on the move TV snacking to being a enhanced second TV replacement; specially with widespread availability of affordable tablets,” said Shabir Momiin, MD/CTO at ZengaTV. “The app features multiple innovations to enable a mobile TV lifestyle that matches the infotainment needs of current generation across age groups.”
The developers also included a variety of advertiser friendly features, which should help draw content providers to the platform. Features include Rich Media advertising, ad-wrapping technology and pre-roll video advertising. Extensive data generation for ad tracking is provided, helping content providers better understand how users are interacting with their content.
The app is currently only available on Android OS devices, however an iOS app is expected to launched very soon. ZengaTV services are offered on a variety of mobile networks like Airtel and Vodafone, among others.
