Video searching is on the up. We all know that currently Google is the Daddy when it comes to searching for anything online, but did you know who is number 2? No, me neither. Surprisingly it is YouTube according to the New York Times and has overtaken the number two search engine Yahoo .

The report shows that when searching in the US, Youtube has kicked Yahoo’s butt into third place behind Google and Youtube.

This is apparently due to the explosion of online video and moving content. YouTube and other websites are slowly transforming the way we search and transporting online videos from an entertainment tool into one for referencing and searching.

And, when you think about it. You can now find videos available for pretty much any topic you can think of on sites like worldtvpc.com. And what better way to learn about something than seeing it with your own eyes?

They say a picture can paint a thousand words (or rather a moving picture). And with video searching on YouTube and other video websites supplying literally hundreds of video answers on the search of your choice then we could be seeing a serious rival to mainstream search engines.
