Youtube looking good in HD

youtubehd Youtube looking good in HD

After its launch of HD videos earlier this month YouTube has taken the trouble to make finding the High Definition video content a little easier by launching its very own Youtube HD section.

YouTube made the announcement on Thursday that a new landing page area was available. On this new HD area viewers can watch content thats been uploaded in the high definition format.

The YouTube HD video now plays via a new flashy looking widescreen window that takes up most of the screen. Earlier this month the video sharing giant reservedly launched the HD section which can be found by looking for the ‘watch in HD’ option on the video. This follows on from last month when Youtube expanded the viewing width on videos creating that widescreen ‘Theatre look’ ready for the HD.

And true to form as its making so many changes to the site, it also now has three new landing pages showing news, movies, and music. These new pages will be showing the latest and most popular videos on the website.

There are questions as to whether the videos are actually true high def which is a minimum resolution of 720p/1080i but it sure looks great compared to standard Youtube videos.

After recent tie ups with TV show and movie companies such as the BBC and MGM their content is suddenly looking much more appealing.

This is leading to an all out assault on the young upstarts of Hulu etc who are trying to grab the internet TV eyes.
