bbctennis Wimbledon Goes Online and InteractiveThe BBC have revealed their plans for an interactive, high definition, mobile and online catch up tv bonanza. For a start the tennis will for the first time ever be in high definition on the BBC’s HD channel.

Their will also be a big ramping up of the internet tv coverage given to the sport, including live streams and tennis on demand. Also on offer will be interviews, live scores and the iPlayer will be offering between two to four matches per day.

The ladies tennis matches will be shown in full, whilst the mens matches will be broken into sets to view. Additionally, the BBC’s daily round up show, “Today At Wimbledon” will be available to watch on demand via the iPlayer service.

Their will also be mobile coverage for those on the move plus a highlights service and replays of top matches. Viewers can also switch between commentary and non commentary options on the live matches.

Even if your not a tennis fan, it will show the way that online tv coverage of major sporting events can become a much more interactive experience than watching on standard tv.
