Watching Online TV In Canada
Canada is a nation that is close both geographically and culturally to the USA, and Canada often pools together much of its TV output with its North American neighbour. That does not mean there are not networks made exclusively for Canada, though, and that extends to the online viewing community.
The major TV networks of Canada (including CTV, Global, Citytv, and national public broadcaster CBC) all feature an online video service, while some lower-profile networks (including those on cable or satellite service) also feature a catch-up service to allow viewers to see what they want, when they want, as part of a system fairly similar to America, fitting given the level of interactivity the two national industries share.
One area that naturally refrains from the US influence a little more, though, is the province of Quebec, where the French-language community generally support their own channels with on-demand content, such as CBC Television de Radio-Canada, V, and TVA, though the English-speaking channels are still represented in the ‘French-Canadian’ areas.
