Newcomer to the internet tv world and rival to Hulu, Sling Media has shown a demo application origionally called SlingPlayer Mobile allowing viewers to watch their home TV shows on the Apple iPhone.

The new app is assumed to be free if you buy a Slingbox for around $180.The Slingbox allows users to watch any TV show or movie on mobile devices.

The Company said in an announcement:- ‘SlingPlayer Mobile gives consumers their entire home TV experience, including local channels, local sports teams, video on demand, pay per view, etc. Any program that you can watch on your sofa back home, you can now watch via your iPhone using a standard network connection. In addition, SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone users can also control their home digital video recorder (DVR) to watch recorded shows, pause, rewind, and fast forward live TV, or even queue new recordings while away from home.’

So iPhone users can now get instant access to cable, satellite and even Tivo from wherever you are so long as you have wifi. The company has said this neat apple app will be available in the first quarter.
