Virgin Media Customers Are Loving TV On Demand

Customers of Virgin Media’s tv-on-demand service managed to watch over 200 million streams during the first quarter of 2010 new figures show. The broadband TV provider’s latest research highlighted that more than 2.1 million subscribers are now regularly making using the on demand service including catch-up tv streaming from the popular tv networks BBC and ITV in the UK.

Additionally Channel 4′s 4oD streaming service had it’s best-ever month in March, with nearly eight million views recorded thanks to TV shows such as Glee, Shameless and Skins. Cindy Rose, Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media, said tv-on-demand viewing is now part of viewers’ daily lives.

She added: “As the way people watch TV continues to change, Virgin Media is bringing the best of high definition, 3D and online TV to viewers and we continue to develop innovative new services that will help consumers make the most of the digital world.”

Just goes to show that watching catch up tv and on demand shows is what the public whats and are increasingly getting from a number of sources.
