VH1 Get Social With CoStar iPad TV App
Seems that social networking whilst watching TV is a trend that is with us for good. And more apps are being released that let viewers “second screen”, apps that should be used whilst watching TV. Now VH1 have launched an app to do the same thing.
The app is called VH1 Co-Star [iTunes link] and is for the iPad only at this time. The app runs while your watching a show and sends tweets plus related info that runs concurrent with whats on screen.
So the app basically drags a lot of related content for the show into a single place, to make the poor viewers life easier.
Said Noah Vadnai, vice president of VH1 Mobile:- “It’s all around the idea of commentary as a new kind of content.” When run the app shows what is on air and coming soon. It also shows what is getting the most social attention.
If you want the social news from a show you have missed, but recorded. The clever app will let you replay the tweets that happened when the show was aired.There are said to be plans for an iPhone app and other smartphones are sure to be involved soon as well.More on this story:-
