Tizi Remote App Brings Siri Voice Control To TV

While everyone is buzzing about Siri voice controlled TV sets coming from Apple, Tizi, the Digital TV receiver that streams TV to the iPad 2, has beaten Apple and got their voice controlled TV remote app launched first.

Tizi app brings voice controlled TV

The Tizi system is a hardware TV receiver that plugs into the iPad 2 and receives digital TV (DTT/DVB-T) singals using it’s built-in antenna. The dongle is currently available in European Countries including Germany, France, UK and Spain.

The new tizi Remote app lets users make use of the iPhone 4S and lets users change and browse channels, pause and rewind live TV etc., but it also makes use of Siri functionality.

Using the Apple iPhone 4S app and using the power of your voice, viewers can change channels and do other voice controlled tomfoolery.

Voice control is starting to make appearances in the TV market with LG launching a voice controlled version of their magic remote.

The system is not available in the US at this time, you need a new iPad and a new iPhone to use it too, which narrows down the market for this system.

And many people may question why you would need a remote to control an iPad that is in your hands at the time your watching it!

But it is interesting to see more manufacturers make use of voice control which looks to be the next big development in TV control. The app can be downloaded free from the Apple iTunes App Store right now.
