Like many regular internet teen internet users, he turned on his pc and webcam and connected to popular video sharing website Justin.tv, then committed suicide in front of an astonished 1,500 viewers.

Abraham Biggs aged 19 from Florida had announced on Wednesday to viewers of the site that he was planning to commit suicide. Many mocked him and even encouraged him to continue.

Unfortunately for all involved he was deadly serious and after setting up his webcam took pills and proceeded to lay on his bed with his back turned to the camera. After several hours some users realised he was no longer breathing.

The local police were informed and after arriving at his house found the teenager was already dead. The webcam was still turned on and broadcasting. It showed four officers checking the teenagers pulse before the stream was disconnected.

Abraham was a member of the ever popular video sharing website Justin.tv and had the username ‘Feel like Ecstasy’ and had previously announced his decision to commit suicide on a bodybuilding forum saying:- ‘I am a shi?? he wrote, I have dissapointed and I feel like I will never improve. I love a girl and I know I’m not good enough for her.

Users replied in a negative way and with insults, even encouraging him to put his suggestion into practice. However After his demise many of the messages were removed from the website.

Justin.tv spokesman Michael Seibel said:- ‘We are sorry that this has happened and we respect the privacy of who sent the video and of his family, announcing moreover that the video had been removed from the site.

Justin.tv is was launched on March 19, 2007. Becomming a destination site for broadcasting and watching live video online while chatting with friends. The sites mission is to enable viewers and broadcasters to interact and exchange ideas in real time through chat and live video.

Commiting suicide online is not a new event to hit the internet. In Japan in recent years several cases have been recorded. In the UK last year a man from Telford also commited suicide by hanging himself on a website chat in which he was insulted by various site members.
