YouView, the IPTV joint venture that is led by the BBC, has today announced their advertising and marketing agency that will support it during the first part of next year.

The BBC backed YouView project that evolved from Project Canvas is increasing its activity in seeking new content providers for the IPTV initiative.

While Sky was originaly against the YouView platform, YouView now say they would be delighted if Sky came onboard and launched its own Sky Player VOD service on the BBC backed IPTV project.

The battle between Sky and Virgin Media continues with Virgin’s announcement of new content to their on demand TV service coming in December.

Chief technology officer of YouView Anthony Rose, has dismissed accusations that the project to bring VOD services to Freeview and Freesat is an anti competitive cartel.

TalkTalk has mentioned that an infrastructure upgrade to their broadband network is going to increase IPTV performance. This announcement comes as the company looks ahead to readying its network for the launch of YouView
