Get Social With Showtime Second Screen iPad App
For viewers that like to watch TV and interact at the same time, you may be interested in the new Showtime Social app for Apple’s iPad. The app is supposed to enhance the viewing experience. How? The app will aggregate information from around the web including Facebook and Twitter, showing instant reactions from around the globe as you watch. Viewers can discuss, interact and comment directly through the app on a variety of social networking sites.
Interactive second screen fun from Showtime
The app gives the usual tv listings of the network’s programming and movie listings for the SHOWTIME multiplex channels. Viewers can set program reminders as well. Other features include viewing behind the scenes, view photo’s, previews, trailers, webisodes and sample full episodes. When you have had enough of watching related trivia, the navigation fades away leaving just the video showing. Viewers can watch shows such as Dexter, Homeland, Shameless, Weeds, The Borgias and Californication amongst others.
Another cool feaure is that when the episode being watches finishes, the app shows an interactive heat map which shows viewer reaction during the show. This allows viewers to look through the episode timeline, showing all viewer reactions at every step of the way.
The app will be a seperate entity from the Showtime anytime streaming app.
