Sling streaming TV onto Blackberry PDA
Blackberry, the coolest mobile PDA device can now watch internet TV. Sling Media creators of the remote TV device Slingbox are releasing its BlackBerry application BlackBerry devices at the end of 2008.
This new fangled app called origionally enough ‘Slingplayer Mobile’ Lets users watch and control TV and DVR remotely using your Blckberry and also viewing any TV held on your Hard drive.
SlingBoxes are famous for sending video signals everywhere needed, sending whatever is showing on your TV at home to another Broadband PC thats anywhere in the world and running SlingPlayer’s software. You are also able to receive any internet TV and video files residing on your hard drive.
Expect the Blackberry application to cost around $30 once its out of its
current Beta stage and working with most models of the PDA device
To use you will need a PC running Sling Media Player 2.0 or later, and a suitable fast broadband connection. Mac and Linux users can use the service but without full features.
The BlackBerry application has been a long time coming, as Sling has had available applications for Windows, Palm, and Symbian devices for some time now. Coming soon will be apps for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch.
Watching TV on any mobile device is becoming easier so its good news for us TV viewers that like to access content wherever we happen to be.
