UK Viewers See SeeSaw On Boxee Box
UK Catch up TV service SeeSaw can now be watched by owners of the Boxee connected tv platform. The service which aggregates UK networks including the the BBC, 4oD and Demand Five on a free basis, and also has an ad free option and rental scheme.
They are now testing offering of streams to D-Links Boxee Box. The service delivers TV-On-Demand to viewers tv sets using a PC running Boxee software or a Boxee set-top box. The Box also lets viewers stream from a number of sources including media files from the home network or hard-drive. Boxee recently reached a deal with Blinx giving the service access to 35 million hours of content.
Owned by the broadcast company Arqiva, SeeSaw will initially let Boxee users access their content from the search function rather than an app. Viewers searching for content will see shows and movies from SeeSaw, and selecting them will open the SeeSaw player.
Initially there will be free content available only, depending on the success SeeSaw may include pay content and ad free versions.
