Samsung To Launch Google Powered Smart TV Devices
The idea of a smart television bringing content together from multiple devices is being promoted by Samsung Electronics at this years CES. They are creating a new range of HD ‘smart televisions’. They are also dipping their toes into the Google TV market by making set-top boxes and Blu-ray players with Google TV functionality, however no commitment has been made on making dedicated Google TV sets.
Samsung are looking to connect a number of consumer devices to a wireless hub which are built around the smart television. Devices such as computers, smart phones such as Galaxy S and tablets such as the Galaxy Tab.
The Google TV powered hardware will have the standard Google setup of a remote containing a full keyboard and a mic for voice searching. Samsung have not put all their tv eggs in Google’s basket though, and are promoting a number of smart TV’s which are based on its own tv platform complete with app store. And they are selling pretty well. Samsung are predicting sales of 10 million connected tv sets this year.
Samsung have revealed that the Google TV devices should start shipping to US Stores second half of 2011.

Hey this is NateR. The Logitech Revue works way better than I expected it to with it being new technology and all I would have thought there would be alot thing that would need to be up dated but I was so wrong I have the Revue streaming through my 722 DVR receiver box. As a DISH subscriber and employee I can tell that DISH’s receiver have the option of being intergrated through your dvr box. This mean I can sitll watch tv put is into picture and picture and still surf the internet. Also with the keyboard for picture and picture give you the option to move the picture into different corners if thier is a part of the screen that you need to see and you can do everything from the keyboard.
