Record Numbers Of Youtube Video Uploaded Every Minute
I remember hearing a while back how Youtube have around 20 hours of video uploaded every single minute. I think i just about have my head around that fact when they announce its now 24 hours of video getting uploaded every minute of every day.
Ther staggering facts were announced on the Youtube blog on Wednesday. It said:- “A day’s worth of content uploaded to YouTube every minute is a big achievement for our community and speaks to the role video plays in connecting and changing the world one upload at a time.”
The upload stats are interesting, back in May 2009 the figure was 20 hours per minute from the Google owned site. In January 2009 it was 15 hours per min. And if we can look back as far as 2007, it was a measly!!? six hours of video.
So one thing is for sure, Youtube which was purchased by Google back in 2006 for 1.65 billion dollars, is getting more popular. Possibly thanks to YouTube becoming a more professional outfit, streaming full-length movies and tv shows. However the site is still losing money as well as its ‘funny videos’ tag.
One things for sure, you will not be running out of things to watch on Youtube anytime soon, both on your pc and soon, on your television if Google have anything to do with it.
