Rainn Wilson and the team over at NBC’s “The Office” have decided to have a little bit of fun with the meltdown-like confession from “Two and a Half Men” star Angus T. Jones. In a recent video from Wilson, who plays Dwight on the show “The Office,” the actor tells viewers to stop watching the popular comedy show on NBC–obviously mocking Jones earlier comments regarding his own show on CBS.
“Please don’t watch ‘The Office,'” Wilson can be seen telling viewers in the new video. “I’m on ‘The Office,’ it’s filth.” Rainn Wilson then goes on to discuss all of the “filthy” things he dislikes about his own show and even features co-star Craig Robinson in what most will call an easy promotional grab at the expense of Jones.
Angus T. Jones has since apologized for his comments about the show “Two and a Half Men,” a production which pays the young actor nearly $300,000 per episode that he is featured in. “I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed,” Jones noted. “I never intended that.”
Angus isn’t the first “Two and a Half Men” cast member to speak out against the show, as Charlie Sheen did the same last year in a very public debacle between himself and CBS. Regardless, much fun has already been made of Angus and his religious confessional rant, and the team at NBC realized the publicity potential and created an interesting take that is in line with their universe. “The Office” returns to NBC Thursday night in the United States.
