PS3 and Wii can watch Youtube TV

All you console owners, put down the latest game and start watching some Internet TV on your console.

YouTube is pushing its video service on to every hardware device known to man (will it be on your washing machine next?). And now it has created a channel especially for owners of the Wii and Sony’s PS3 console.

Just turn on your console and put the following url into the browser www.youtube.com/tv then you can browse the vast array of video offerings from the worlds premiere video provider. YouTube’s blog describes it thus:-

youtubewii PS3 and Wii can watch Youtube TVCurrently in beta, the TV Website offers a dynamic, lean-back, 10-foot television viewing experience through a streamlined interface that enables you to discover, watch and share YouTube videos on any TV screen with just a few quick clicks of your remote control. With enlarged text and simplified navigation, it makes watching YouTube on your TV as easy and intuitive as possible. Optional auto-play capability enables users to view related videos sequentially, emulating a traditional television experience. The TV Website is available internationally across 22 geographies and in over 12 languages.

Unfortunately for owners of the Xbox360, the function is’nt available for the Microsoft console because it does not have an internet browser.

In action the YouTube site has allegedly been optimized to be watched on your TV set so it’s a little different to the web version. The HD viewing options also do not appear to be available.
