Panasonic Add Social Networking To Internet Connected TV
Panasonic have released a software update to their range of internet connected television sets, allowing viewers to have a good old moan off/praise up whats on tv.
Everyone uses Facebook or Twitter or both, and the tv companies realise how important social networking is to ratings. To this aim, Panasonic have updated the software that runs their series of internet-connectable HD television sets.
For UK viewers, the update also has the new BBC iPlayer as well as Twitter functionality so viewers can make use of the catch up tv service.
Users can Tweet using the numeric pad on your remote. Alternatively, you can sack it off and just use your laptop or smartphone instead. It seems though, that Panasonic have made the update a bugger to find, making users fiddle around with their TV’s VieraCast UI.
Useful update, but as most viewers appear to watch tv and use their pc at the same time, is it really of any use? Fiddling with the remote just doesnt match typing on a keyboard (or virtual keyboard with ipad/iphone etc.).
