Watching Online TV In The USA

TV in the USA is undoubtedly the industry’s biggest market, with a majority of the world’s leading shows, stars, producers, and technologies coming from, or working in America.

With a fairly complex system of broadcasting designed to cater to the needs of the vast spread of population and time-zones in the USA, nation-wide cable and satellite networks complement the better-known broadcast networks, which are generally free-to-air in at least a majority of the hundreds of ’TV markets’ in the country.

Many of these high-profile networks (including the ‘Big Four’ of ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox) also run their own successful free-to-air streaming and catch-up services online, although an increasing number of local and minor networks are doing the same, though premium content can sometimes cause a price to be put on these services.

All tastes are catered for the online viewer of American networks. The beauty of watching your content on the web, is that you can view shows on-demand and at a time to suit you.

For science fiction buffs, there is the dedicated Sci-Fi channel which is oddly spelt as Sy-Fy, while fans of music and reality shows can enjoy the likes of MTV, and those intregued by sports have a variety of channels to fit their interests, with networks (generally run by broadcasting giants such as ESPN and Fox, or even the sports leagues themselves) based on individual sports, language, and format (live events, news, and 3D, amongst others).

While these are the main special interest networks, the vast range of local and national channels in the country mean that you are likely to find at least one channel that is dedicated to your favourite subject, many of which also have a presence online and a streaming service.
