Exclusive worldwide streaming rights to the third season of AMC detective TV show, The Killing have been secured by Netflix, after they struck a deal with producers, Fox Television Studios.

Online viewers in the US and Canada will get to watch season three, coincidentally three months after the finale airs on AMC which is a pretty short time compared to other shows that usually appear online a year after airing. Netflix have already made available seasons 1 and 2 in the US and will be releasing them to other Countries during the soon.
The Killing series is based on the Danish TV series Forbrydelsen, but with falling ratings it got was cancelled by AMC last year. The show tells of an investigation into the murder of a young girl, with the story concluding after season 2. But the show has been brought back from the dead for a further 12 new episodes which follows a new murder case.
Speaking about the show Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos said, “We’re excited to see The Killing back on TV and we’re especially proud to bring Season 3 to our members so soon after it premieres on AMC. The Killing is a terrific serialized drama and we know our members love these high-quality shows.”
Fox TV Studios president David Madden said that the agreement with Netflix “played an extremely significant part in the studio’s strategy that enabled us to bring The Killing back for a third season.”
