The Canadian arm of US internet streaming company Netflix have signed a content deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution which will bring hit movies and TV Shows to its one million plus Canadian subscribers.
The third season as well as seasons of “Pretty Little Liars,” and Sci-Fi drama “Fringe“, will also be available in Canada from January 2013. Movies available include hit comedies The Hangover Part II, Horrible Bosses and BAtman flick The Dark Knight Rises.
The content will appear on Netflix Canada after showing after their respective Canadian pay TV window showings in the exclusive licensing agreement.
Chief content officer for Netflix Ted Sarandos revealed the internet distribution deal alongside President of Warner Bros. International Television Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, and he said, “We are thrilled to be the exclusive online subscription home for The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Fringe and great Warner Bros. feature films in Canada.”
Speaking for Warner Bros. Jeffrey Schlesinger said, “We are pleased to extend our great relationship with Netflix to the benefit of their Canadian subscribers – giving them access to full past seasons of some of our most popular and addictive serialized dramas and blockbuster feature film titles.”
