Netflix Bring Online Show Lilyhammer To Our Screens
Netflix are bringing their first original , online TV show, Lilyhammer to computers, tablets and phones on February 6th it has been revealed. And in a new departure from standard TV networks, Netflix are releasing all eight episodes of the show on the same date.

Lilyhammer, which stars Steven Van Zandt as a mobster Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano, who enters the witness protection plan in a bid to make a new life for himself in Lillehammer, Norway.
Steven Van Zandt who was formerly a guitarist for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band reprises a role familiar to fans of the Sopranos which he also starred in. The comedy drama is part of the Netflix original online content drive, designed to bring more viewers online and reduce the high cost and complications of buying high quality content.
The show will be available to stream in the US, Canada and in Latin America on Feb. 6, interestingly all episodes will become available at once giving viewers the chance to watch the whole series in one go.
Ted Sarandos, chief content officer for Netflix said in a statement, “If you love the first episode, there is no need to wait until next week, or to set a DVR, to catch the next on.”
The show is the first streamed of many that Netflix have exclusive rights to. The company have a reputation for showing only old shows and movies that have been discontinued or past their ‘sell by date’.
It is a good move by Netflix as over 60% of streamed content watched on Netflix comprises TV shows, and still to come this year is the Kevin Spacey political drama House of Cards, and Netflix have the rights to the renewed episodes of comedy show Arrested Development as well.

Netflix’s attempt to “bring more viewers online and reduce the high cost and complications of buying high quality content,” is going to be in vain. Creating this show isn’t going to replace The Sopranos or Boardwalk Empire, Netflix is still going to have to pay for a lot of content that they don’t presently own the rights to. Netflix was always just a supplement to my TV service, but it was never good enough to replace it. I cancelled my subscription with them last year when I realized that my free 3-month trial of the Blockbuster Movie Pass is a much better supplement. I now get more because I can also rent Blu-ray’s and video games without incurring any extra charges to do so. Now that my trial is up, I am certainly keeping it because it will only be $10 a month, and I get access to new release titles 28 days earlier than I did with Netflix. Steven Van Zandt is a very talented individual and since I work for DISH I have watched him flourish on screen, but Lilyhammer will not be enough for me to ever go back to Netflix.
Lilyhammer is quite good.
Lilyhammer is a great show. Netflix is worth every dollar I spend. I also have Direct tv and spend more time watching Netflix. If Netflix continues to develop programming such as Lilyhammer I will turn off Direct tv.
Netflix has nothing to do with lillyhammer developments, lillyhammer is made by the norwegian tv channel NRK. And the scenes is taken in a small town in norway called lillehammer.
Netflix has only bought the show from NRK.
I love lillyhammer but get rid of subtitles, we know they speak Norwegian . Tired of reading.
We have been loving the new Netflix show Lillyhammer. Or bought show or whatever. Bottom line is it’s a fun show with a new twist on on old idea. We love it and love no commercials. Keep the new programs coming!

I really enjoyed the show lillehammer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this was the first of many seasons??? Steven should focus on this show..the e street band, though a great band, had its day !!! Next page ??????????? I am from brooklyn, now live in florida, and as a musician all my life I could see myself playing a co staring part in that movie!! Great show keep it going !!!!!!!!!
I watched all of Lilyhammer season I in two days. I’m so hooked. When will the next season be available? Also, thanks for the subtitles.

Just about the most serious funny amazing series…Watched one 45 minute and I was hooked. Language NOT for children, but then again I have played BLACK OPS and six years olds use the words like steveadores..
