Netflix Update Now Streams On 24 Android Devices
If you own an Android phone and want Netflix then you are participating in a lottery. Some models run it and some dont. The dripfeed of models getting the software has been ramped up though, as Netflix have announced the release of an update that will bring its streaming services to 15 more phones, and even a tablet PC.
When Netflix first released the Android app in May it worked on a tiny number of phones, but they have slowly added more and more devices to the compatible list. With the new update, the Netflix app more 15 more Android phones now officially fully functional on 24 devices
The list of devices run by Android capable of the streaming service includes, Casio G’zOne Commando C771, HTC Droid Incredible, HTC Droid Incredible 2, HTC EVO, HTC EVO 3D, HTC G2, HTC Thunderbolt, Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet, LG Revolution, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Droid, Motorola Droid X, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Droid 2, Motorola Droid 3, Samsung Droid Charge, Samsung Epic 4G, Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S 4G, Samsung Fascinate, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Nexus S 4G
This still leaves plenty of Android models not covered, due to the fragmentation of both the hardware and software. Netflix need to adapt to every model which is a painstaking task.
