The agreement will bring new movies such as Salt starring Angelina Jolie, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Men in Black 3 and The Social Network in the second pay-TV window after Sky have broadcast. There will also be TV shows such as Transformers and The Spectacular Spider-Man.

The deal which is multi-year is set to commence from June 2012 and will enforce it’s current dominant position as the UK streaming service. Lovefilm who were taken over by Amazon earlier this year have been agreeing a slew of content deals recently that include Warner Bros, StudioCanal, Disney, Momentum and Lionsgate as they boost their online streaming catalog which runs along with a DVD rental service.

Speaking about the development chief executive of LOVEFiLM, Simon Calver said, “The number of recent high-profile deals we have secured means we are able to keep expanding the service.”

Lovefilm who boast 1.8 million subscribers, recently launched a streaming-only service priced at £4.99 monthly, which will be a direct competitor to the streaming only Netflix product.
