Ipad To Launch worldwide On May 28th
Apple have announced that their highly anticipated iPad will get it’s international launch on May 28th, the touch screen pc will be released in a number of Countries including:- Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on the same date.
iPad will soon be available worldwide
The news comes after massive success in the US, with iPads selling out all over the Country with Apple retail stores in 13 US cities already out of stock. “Demand continues to exceed supply,” Apple’s Natalie Kerris said. Apple has sold over a million iPads so far.
Success for the iPad will be largely down to it’s media features, from reading ebooks to its amazing internet tv features All this activity is driving content providers in a migration to support the browser-based open standard, HTML5. Multiple broadcasters are tweaking their online services to support this standard, as well as the iPad.
ABC have had success with their catch up tv app, Netflix have a movies on demand app and tv on demand king Hulu, is expected to introduce its own iPad app later this month, bringing the second most popular video streaming service after YouTube to Apple’s new baby (although we are not sure if it’s going to be free).
Apple CO, Tim Cook, speaking at a Goldman Sachs conference in February 2010 noted that Apple TV sales had increased by 35% compared to the same quarter last year. “Apple TV is still a hobby. We’ve been very clear about that,” he said. “We’re continuing to invest in it because our gut tells us there’s something there.”
Apple are in a prime position now to expand on it’s Apple TV concept, as it now has several devices equipped with Wi-Fi which can access a user’s iTunes content.
Apple tv may soon become a little more than just a hobby.
