Internet TV Website TV.com – 263% rise in viewers.

Revamped Internet TV website TV.com is loved by the viewers, showing a trailblazing 263% rise of unique viewers to it’s website during January.

The revamped TV portal owned by CBS shows a selection of full length TV shows alongside news, forums, blogs and other additional TV related fare. The survey carried out by Nielsen Video Census showed a 1,261% rise in streams viewed and a 4,435% rise in minutes viewed. The website shows aggregated streams from the Hulu website and has recently added CBS TV shows as well as other partners such as Showtime, MGM, Sony, PBS, Endemol networks.

In it’s bid to gain viewers from the mighty Hulu, the site has added additional features to incorporate more social networking features and viewer interaction to differentiate itself.

It seems to be working with stats showing a 19% rise in the monthly viewers in January, a 26% rise in visitors and a 43% increase in duration (minutes) users were on the website.

Spokesman for CBS Interactive Anthony Soohoo said:- “We are seeing more and more people turning to TV.com”

The competition for online TV is getting fiercer by the day with a plethora of quality TV and movie websites such as Hulu, Joost, Sling, Veoh amongst others. Hulu as an example had over 22 million unique viewers during November and they spent on average – two hours watching streams on the website during the month. Enough time for a top TV episode and a movie.

The good news for us viewers is that the internet TV sites will have to keep upping their game as they all want to be top TV dog.
