Internet TV Survey Shows oldies are Watching and willing to Pay
A survey showing Online TV viewing habits has revealed some surprising findings. The survey carried out by Bernstein Research analyst Jeffrey Lindsay, gives us an interesting insight into where Online TV is heading.
Carried out in March using more than 500 US consumers, the findings conclude by revealing what most of us already think. Hulu is the biggest threat to Big Media companies and not YouTube.
Other interesting findings include:-
Who watches online TV?
54% of the participants view online television and movies, the genders and ages are split and cover males, females and all age ranges. Although surprisingly almost half are oldies over the age of 35. The demographics are very similar to traditional cable tv watchers.

Online viewers mainly watch TV using their PC monitor, followed by 19% that watch on PC connected to TV. Then comes ipod, games consoles and wireless devices. Online TV viewing is still a supplement to watching tv.
Paying for Content
Interestingly, nearly 60% of respondents would be willing to pay $1 to watch a TV show online and between $1-$5 for a movie.

Cutting the Cable
When it comes to ditching the television set, a surprising third of the participants said that they may get rid of the TV altogether and go online full time. Another surprise was that cost was not the most important reason behind this, but choice was. Only 10% of this group said that cost was the reason.

Where to find Online TV?
When it comes to finding content then Youtube is still king of the hill, but Hulu is lining up to be the number one destination. The major networks are also popular and just using Google comes in fourth place.

Looking to the future, now that Hulu has three of the big networks on board and is rolling out on the international stage. It is according to the survey, the only legitimate threat to cable television out there.

As the Internet TV viewership continues to rise, so will downloading software to help harness the unlimited content. There is an increasing number of Internet media websites/providers, TV networks, and streaming channels/videos that keeps popping up making it harder to keep up with everything.
I found that using a top leading software package not only saves me time and effort, but helps streamline, organize, and deliver Worldwide sports, movies, live/on-demand TV shows/episodes, adult TV, etc., to my PC without searching for them.
