We all know that eating dinner should never interupt an important tv show. and it seems your average viewer is in agreement. A new survey by catch up tv service SeeSaw shows an increase in the number of people eating whilst sat in front of their PC.

The survey comprised of 2000 respondents and the results showed that 60% eat their evening meal in front of a pc, and 15% of those are watching tv on their computer whilst munching.

The survey was carried out in the UK and showed that the most popular show whilst eating, was a cookery show! TV show Come Dine With Me was a big hit over dinner.

SeeSaw’s John Keeling said:- “Millions of British people cannot tear themselves away from the internet, even for dinner. The growth of the PC dinner is a remarkable new trend and for many across the nation, has now replaced the traditional TV dinner.”

Other interesting facts from the survey showed that the trend of watching tv with just a computer for company is growing, a third said they are much more likely to do this now compared to a year ago. And a quarter said the pc has replaced the tv as their main entertainment.

The survey shows how viewers are now embracing mobile tv and are happy to watch tv on a mobile device or phone. If it means that viewers sit up the dinner table rather than slouched on the couch, it may even may kill off the couch potatoe.
