Line-Up Revealed As 10 Celebs Go Jungle-Bound
The popular ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is back for its 10th series this Sunday, with a fresh batch of celebrities heading into the Australian jungle to battle for the public’s affection and votes in the race to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
The 10 hopefuls have now touched down after a lengthy flight, and will stay in the 5-star Palazzo Versace hotel in Gold Coast, savouring their last few days of luxury before a wild stay in the ‘bush’ that could last up to a few weeks, depending on their success with the public vote.
The show, which is hosted by Geordie duo And & Dec, features 10 (sort-of) famous faces in the Australian rainforests, as the area becomes their home for the duration of the series until individuals are evicted by the public vote. The first week-and-a-half of the show, where no-one is voted off, is not exempt from public influence, though, as viewers can vote for the star that they most want to face the dreaded and sometimes greusome ’Bush Tucker Trials’ (which include the popular eating trials involving ‘jungle cuisine’) that determine the quality and amount of food that the camp gets for that evening. Participants can also expect several unexpected twists along the way, as producers look to create tension and entertaining scenarios.
The 10 (formerly 12) celebs who have signed up to the challenge range from the fairly recognized (Britt Ekland) to the near-unknowns (Aggro Santos), but producers have promised their best and most entertaining line-up yet in the show’s 8-year history. The full list of participants, and what they are famous for, can be seen below (update: celebrities that have since pulled out, or not made the trip, are represented with a strikethrough):
Aggro Santos (rapper)
Alison Hammond (TV presenter and former Big Brother contestant)
Britt Ekland (actress)
Dom Joly (comedian (Trigger Happy TV))
Gillian McKeith (food nutritionist, TV host)
Kayla Collins (model) (replaces Gail Porter (TV presenter))
Lembit Opik (former MP, comedian, dated member of the Cheeky Girls)
Linford Christie (former Olympic sprinter)
Nigel Havers (actor)
Shaun Ryder (singer (lead singer of Happy Mondays))
Sheryl Gascoigne (former WAG)
Stacey Solomon (singer (3rd place in The X Factor in 2009))
Series 10 of I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here! starts on ITV1 at 9pm on Sunday.
