American Idol Judges To Be Announced Live Wednesday
Tomorrow is set to be a big day for American Idol fans, as host network FOX have announced that they will be revealing the new judge’s panel for the ‘American Idol’ show on Wednesday live, in an event that will end countless months of predictions and rumours by the press and viewers of the show.
It has been known for a long time that Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi, and of course, Paula Abdul (who vacated in 2009 for DeGeneres) have all left the show (only Randy Jackson will remain from last season’s line-up, and remains the only ever-present judge since the show first began in airing in 2001), meaning that up to 3 seats on the table needed to be filled.
The big announcement is most likely to take place at the Los Angeles Forum, which will be the location of some of the show’s audition stage in season 10. It has been strongly reported that one of the vacant spots will be filled by Jennifer Lopez, who is rumored to have signed a $12M contract with ‘Idol’. Steven Tyler from ‘Aerosmith’ and Jennifer Hudson were both also said to be joining the team.
The event is set to represent a new era for Idol, as it looks to compete with the upcoming X Factor USA, the show which Simon Cowell has left for.
