Hulu Gets Streaming Rights To Comedy Show Community

A deal has been confirmed between Hulu and Sony Pictures Television for exclusive streaming rights to comedy show Community. The show has a popular cult type status, but has not had massive ratings and has even put put in storage by NBC just halfway through Season 3.

Community streaming comes to Hulu

The exclusive streaming deal means that other companies such as Netflix and Amazon will not be able to show the program. Community, which stars Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Glover and Chevy Chase. The show follows a smarmy lawyer whose education is deemed void by the bar, and is forced to attend a local community college. The show airs on NBC on Thursdays at 8 pm.

Hulu reached the deal on Friday, and now all three seasons of the comedy can be seen on Hulu Plus using next-day access.

but only a few episodes can be viewed on free Hulu. The company said of the deal, “Hulu is all about finding a specific show that we know will resonate with a specific audience segment on Hulu. We want to create a place where ‘Community’ fans can watch the show and share your favorite hilarious moments with your friends using Hulu’s social features.”
