Hulu coming to ipad at a cost?

There are mutterings that Hulu are ready to go full speed ahead with subscription services, Reuters news agency are claiming sources that say Hulu is developing a subscription service that will run on several devices within a few weeks. The devices in question are Xbox 360 and Apple’s new Ipad.

Other Entertainment and cable Companies will be interested to see if the plan works. Nobody wants to try a subscription model that then fails in such a competative sector with entertainment companies and content distributors frantically trying to survive in the online video market which is expected to hit $16.1 billion through paid and ad-supported services by 2012, according to ABI Research.

The Hulu service will not be all chargeable, some episodes will be streamed free, but to view older programming will require a paid membership. But can viewers tolerate even more expense on top of cable, satellite and broadband costs. Stay tuned because i think we will find out pretty soon.
