Is Hulu Getting Ready For An International Launch?
There have been many reports indicating that Hulu, the online streaming website will launch globally. But they have all come to nothing thus far, leaving many wondering if they ever will.
Will Hulu be streaming in a Country near you, soon?
But we have discovered that Hulu has applied for trademarks in Australia,Canada and the the UK, implying that Hulu is considering launching in these 3 countries.
Their most recent Australian trademark application is # 1416895 and this can be viewed here
A search of the “ATMOSS” database shows that Hulu has applied to have its logo registered in Classes 9, 38, 41 and 42 in Australia .
Also, a search of the UK Intellectual Property Office here shows that Hulu has applied to have its logo in the UK in the same trademark classes as Australia.
They have sought trade mark protection in Australia and the UK for “downloadable audio-visual media content”, “broadcasting and streaming of audio-visual media content” and “hosting of digital content on the internet”.
Both of these trademarks were applied for on March 29th, whilst the UK trademark was approved and published in late May.

The Australian trademark application has yet to be approved.
Hulu is jointly owned by News Corp., NBC Universal, and Walt Disney Co. and Providence Equity Partners, all own roughly equal stakes in the company but, so far, the content (there are more than 260 content partners).
Hulu has only been available to those in the United States due to not having international streaming rights for their content but these trademark filings suggest Hulu is working on launching internationally.
