Remote Control Hulu And Netflix With Motion Using Kinect
Millions of kids (and adults) must have got a kinect in their stockings at Christmas, as the motion sensing device has broken records with the number sold. And it’s good news if your one of the 10 million owners and use Netflix or Hulu streaming service, as you will soon be able to control your tv viewing using the motion device.
The Microsoft Kinect controller for use on Xbox 360 has been confirmed as a record breaking, fastest selling product by the Guinness Book of Records, selling 133,333 daily on average.
Kinect, which you can buy for around $150 is for Xbox 360 console and lets users control games. But also much more, as Microsoft are keen to push Xbox as not just a games machine. The device can also be used to watch movies (and soon control your tv channels) just by movement and speech.
It was also revealed that the device even outsold the almost mythical, iPad and iPhone products for the same period after launching.
However the important news is that the hands free device can soon be used for changing channels and pausing a movie or tv show. Microsoft have revealed that streaming services Netflix and Hulu Plus will have Kinect support within the next couple of months.
