Hulu Plus Going Mobile On Android Devices

Streaming tv and video providers are scrambling to get their services onto mobile devices, and Hulu Plus is the latest service to be confirmed as coming to Android phones and tablets very soon.

The announcment was made at the Samsung keynote address at the CES in Las Vegas. The CEO of Hulu Jason Kilar and Samsung’s Tim Baxter announced that the subscription based Hulu Plus service is coming.

It was a one up on bitter rival Netflix who have only managed an iPhone app but no Android version, yet. Hulu can now boast a victory in having Hulu Plus on both iPhone and soon Android as well.

The Hulu Plus pay on demand TV service has had a rough ride since launching and the monthly price was dropped in November to $7.99. The service which is a beefed up Hulu service, lets viewers watch on demand to complete seasons of shows from Fox, ABC and NBC.

A demo of Hulu Plus was shown running on a Samsung Galaxy S was shown, and Hulu said in a blog post that they will shortly confirm the release dates of the Android app and phones covered.

Hulu also announced the service is coming to Vizio Internet-enabled HD televisions and Blu-ray players.
