Hulu Gets Close To A Billion Video Stream Views In November
Although the usual suspect Google is still reigning supreme for online video with four out of every ten internet videos watched coming from their sites, Hulu is pulling in some pretty impressive numbers with nearly a billion streams viewed for November.
The ComScore report shows that for the month, close to 31 billion online streams were watched for the period. Google blew away all competition with a stahhering 12.2 billion video views, pretty much all coming from YouTube. This kind of makes Hulu’s figures of 924 million views (3% of the market) seem paltry, however they are great figures and rising for the top catch up tv service. Viacom Digital grabbed 500 million views (1.6%) followed by Microsoft websites with 1.5%, Yahoo 1.5%, Fox Interactive Media 1.4% and Turner Network 1.1%. Hulu has seen a steady increase in views, and December may be the month it actually breaks the 1 billion barrier, something only YouTube has achieved.
Video Viewing Is Up Again
Around 170 million US consumers which equates to 85% of the total US Internet demographic each saw around 182 videos during the month, comScore said, for a total time of 12.2 hours. Google sites drew 129 million unique viewers who watched an average of 94.7 videos each, with Yahoo! (55.1 million UV/8.5 videos) and Fox (50 million UV/8.9 videos) coming in the next 2 positions.
Hulu’s figures were slightly different with a smaller number of streams watched with just 43.7, however due to the full length nature of the site, each viewer watched an average of 21.1 videos which was the second highest figure.
Across all the numbers, ComScore revealed that the average length of time for watching online videos was around four minutes showing that watching a marathon session online is still something that the public avoid.

Hulu is growing really really fast. The videos hosted are really of good quality (Not all but most of them). I just believe that someday they will beat Google (Youtube) in terms of video views.
