Sony Dash owners can now subscribe to Hulu Plus and watch premium content on their widget filled, portable internet viewer. If you have a Hulu Plus subscription, there’s now one more device that will let you play back hundreds of hours of TV shows – Sony’s Internet-powered portable Dash system.

Sony’s smart device, which looks like a tablet pc crossed with an alarm clock, is available in the US only at this time. The dash lets users connect to the local network and store, use and share media such as music, video and photos on it’s 7″ LCD touch screen. Media can also be streamed from the web. It has hundreds of apps including Facebook, Youtube etc. billed as giving users a snapshot of their online business and life.

With the Hulu Plus catch up tv service, Sony are looking to push the device harder and encourage more than just a glance at the device for users. And a streaming tv service can only enhance the development of the Dash. The device can also run the Netflix video on demand service.

The move also emphasises the range of products that Hulu Plus now runs on, from TV sets, Blu-ray players, mobile devices, set-top boxes, and game consoles for a start. Strangely for Sony, the Dash retails at a very acceptable $199, with the Hulu Plus service coming in at $7.99 monthly.
